Part of our guide to the Pokémon 30th Anniversary Set: The Complete Guide to 30th Celebration.

The Pokémon 30th Anniversary release date was Wednesday 16 September 2026, when Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration launched at participating retailers around the world on the same day. That was only the start, though. The English products arrive in five waves, with the premium collections landing on 6 November 2026 and the Binder Collection on 4 December 2026. This guide lists every wave, what each product contains and how to make sure you get the ones you want.

For an overview of the cards and the set itself, read our Pokémon 30th Anniversary Set guide. To see which cards you can pull, use our 30th Anniversary Pokémon card list.

Key dates on the road to launch

The 30th Anniversary set was revealed in stages through 2026. These were the key moments:

  • 27 February 2026: Pokémon’s 30th birthday, marking 30 years since Pokémon Red and Green came out in Japan.
  • 1 June 2026: The Pokémon Company officially revealed 30th Celebration, including the Futuristic rare rarity, the 30 Pikachu cards and the return of 30 classic cards.
  • 30 June 2026: the English product line-up and release dates were published.
  • Early September 2026: the Binder Collection moved from 2 October to 4 December, and the remaining cards were revealed in the run-up to launch.
  • 16 September 2026: the set launched worldwide on the same day.

Why the 30th Anniversary release date was a first

Pokémon 30th Anniversary release date product: Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box

Pokémon sets normally reach Japan first and arrive in English weeks or months later. 30th Celebration broke that pattern. It was the first Pokémon TCG expansion with a simultaneous global launch, so the Pokémon 30th Anniversary release date was the same in the UK, Japan and every other participating market: 16 September 2026. The Pokémon Company noted that the exact time on launch day would vary by country.

For UK collectors this was good news. There was no need to import early Japanese packs to see the new cards, and English and Japanese products could be compared side by side from day one.

Wave 1: 16 September 2026

Seven products arrived on the main Pokémon 30th Anniversary release date, covering everything from a small blister to a full Elite Trainer Box.

Elite Trainer Box

The 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box holds nine booster packs, a full-art Nidorina promo, 65 card sleeves, 16 foil Basic Energy cards, dice, a coin, six dividers and a player’s guide. It is the classic all-round product and the one most collectors bought first.

Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box

The Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box is the bigger version. It has 11 booster packs and two Nidorina promos, one of them stamped with the Pokémon Center logo, along with the usual accessories.

Poster Collection

The Poster Collection includes three booster packs, promo cards of Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres, and a two-sided poster showing cards from the expansion.

Pokémon ex Box: Sylveon ex or Greninja ex

Each Pokémon ex Box has four booster packs, one foil promo and one oversize card of its Pokémon. Choose the Sylveon ex Box or the Greninja ex Box, depending on your favourite.

Tech Sticker Collection

The Tech Sticker Collection comes in Alolan Exeggutor and Lucario versions. Each has three booster packs, a foil promo and a matching sheet of tech stickers.

Knock Out Collection and 2-Pack Blister

Both small products contain two booster packs, a foil Eevee promo and a coin. The Knock Out Collection is a popular stocking filler and a low-cost way to try the set.

Wave 2: 2 October 2026

Pokémon 30th Celebration Mini Tin display

Two and a half weeks after launch, two more products arrived, including the simplest way to open packs.

  • Booster Bundle: six booster packs and no extras. The 30th Celebration Booster Bundle is the best choice if you only care about opening packs.
  • Mini Tins: two booster packs per tin plus a sticker sheet and a matching art card. There are ten tin designs to collect, and our Mini Tin display contains a full run.

The Binder Collection was first listed for this date too, but The Pokémon Company moved it to 4 December 2026. It is covered in Wave 5 below.

Wave 3: 30 October 2026

The third wave was for players. The Espeon ex Battle Deck and the Umbreon ex Battle Deck are ready-to-play, all-foil 60-card decks. Each comes with an Illustration rare style card, Victini in the Espeon ex deck and Zeraora in the Umbreon ex deck, plus a deck box, a coin and a playmat.

If you want to play with 30th Celebration cards rather than just collect them, a Battle Deck is the easiest place to start, because the 60-card deck is ready to use straight out of the box.

Wave 4: 6 November 2026

Pokémon 30th Celebration Ultra Premium Collection Day pre-order

The fourth wave brings the premium collections, and it is the one many collectors have been waiting for.

Ultra Premium Collection Day and Night

Each Ultra Premium Collection has 29 regular booster packs and one special Classic Collection booster pack with three Classic Collection cards. The Day version includes Pikachu ex with Espeon ex, and the Night version includes Pikachu ex with Umbreon ex, along with a playmat, sleeves, a deck box and other accessories. Pre-order the Ultra Premium Collection Day or the Ultra Premium Collection Night.

Ditto Premium Collection

The Ditto Premium Collection has eight booster packs, a Ditto promo card and a colourful acrylic display piece.

Figure Collection: Mew or Mewtwo

Each Figure Collection has five booster packs, a sculpted figure, a foil promo and an oversize card of Mew or Mewtwo, the two mascots of the set.

6 November is the busiest date of the whole 30th Anniversary calendar. Three premium 30th Celebration products and the brand-new Delta Reign expansion all arrive on the same day, so if you want one of the Ultra Premium Collections, a pre-order is by far the safest way to make sure you get one.

Wave 5: 4 December 2026

The last English wave arrives in December, just in time for Christmas.

  • Binder Collection: a nine-pocket binder with a 30th Celebration design and five booster packs. It was originally planned for 2 October, but the official product pages now list 4 December 2026.
  • Pokémon ex Tin: a 30th Celebration tin announced for the same date. Full contents are still to be confirmed, so check back before you order.

The Binder Collection is a great match for the 30 Pikachu cards, because four pages of the binder hold the whole Pikachu subset with room to spare for promos.

Delta Reign also releases on 6 November 2026

The fourth 30th Celebration wave shares its release date with the next main English set. Mega Evolution—Delta Reign launches on 6 November 2026, led by Mega Rayquaza ex. It is the English version of the Japanese set Storm Emeralda, which came out in Japan on 31 July 2026, and The Pokémon Company describes it as having over 135 cards.

Delta Reign is a separate expansion, not part of 30th Celebration, so its cards will not turn up in 30th Celebration packs. Browse our Delta Reign products to see what is available.

Japanese 30th CELEBRATION release dates

Japanese Pokémon 30th Celebration Card Set with the Kanto starter Pokémon

Japan launched on the same day as the rest of the world, but its product line-up is different.

Each Japanese Card Set contains three promo cards of that generation’s starter Pokémon, two booster packs and a card stand, which makes them a popular way to collect all 27 starters. In Japan the Futuristic Box was sold through the Pokémon Center Online store.

Japanese products are sold through a ballot system in some Japanese shops, so sealed boxes can be hard to find at launch. Browse our Japanese Pokémon cards to see what is in stock.

Chinese 30th Celebration products

Simplified Chinese 30th Celebration products are also available, including a sealed Chinese 30th Celebration booster box, the Prismatic Future Gift Box, the Espeon ex Deluxe Deck Set and the Charizard Premium Figure Gift Box. Chinese products often bundle extra cards and figures that are not part of the English line-up, which makes them popular as gifts.

Release day tips

Big Pokémon releases sell quickly, and the 30th Anniversary waves are no exception. A little planning makes release days far less stressful.

  • Decide in advance. Know which products you want from each wave before the day, so you are not tempted into buying things you do not need.
  • Have a back-up choice. If the Elite Trainer Box sells out, the Booster Bundle or a Pokémon ex Box gives you packs and, in the case of the ex Box, a promo.
  • Check what is inside. Two products can look similar but contain very different numbers of packs, so read the contents on the product page.
  • Look after your pulls. Have sleeves and toploaders ready before you open anything. All-foil cards scratch easily.

How to pre-order 30th Anniversary products in the UK

Pre-ordering is the easiest way to secure a product before its release date, especially for the final wave. A few tips:

  • Check the label. On our shop, pre-order products are marked Pre-order in their name and on the product page.
  • Order early. Premium collections like the Ultra Premium Collection tend to sell out first.
  • Spread your budget. With five waves over almost three months, decide which products matter most to you rather than buying everything on day one.
  • Buy from UK shops. Prices in pounds mean no import charges or currency surprises at the door.
  • Keep an eye on our pre-orders. New pre-orders are added as soon as products are confirmed.

Planning your budget around the release dates

Because the products are spread over almost three months, it helps to plan your spending around the Pokémon 30th Anniversary release date for each wave rather than buying everything at once.

  • September: pick one starter product, such as the Elite Trainer Box, to see the set for yourself.
  • October: add the Booster Bundle if you want to open more packs, or a Battle Deck if you want to play.
  • November: this is the big month, with the Ultra Premium Collections, the Ditto Premium Collection, the Figure Collections and the new Delta Reign set all on 6 November.
  • December: the Binder Collection and the Pokémon ex Tin round off the year and make easy Christmas gifts.

Spreading your purchases this way also gives you time to see which cards you still need for your collection before you buy more packs.

30th Anniversary products as Christmas gifts

With the last wave arriving on 4 December 2026, 30th Celebration is one of the easiest Pokémon gifts to buy this year. Here are some ideas by budget:

Our gift guide on the homepage groups more ideas by price if you are shopping for someone else.

Which release wave should you buy from?

If you want the best value per pack, the Booster Bundle from Wave 2 is hard to beat. If you want a complete starter product with a promo, go for the Elite Trainer Box from Wave 1. If you are chasing the Classic Collection, the Ultra Premium Collections in Wave 4 are the products to pre-order. And if you want to play, pick up a Battle Deck from Wave 3.

Many collectors combine two or three of these: an Elite Trainer Box to start, a Booster Bundle to open more packs, and one premium collection to keep sealed. Whatever you choose, all of our 30th Celebration products list their full contents on the product page.
