A secret Labubu is the rare hidden figure in each Labubu blind box series. It is not shown on the front of the box, it is much harder to find than the regular designs and it is the figure every collector hopes to pull. This guide explains what a secret Labubu is, what the usual odds are, which secret figures are the most famous and what a sealed case means for your chances.
Want to know what secrets are worth? Our Labubu price guide explains how rarity affects the price, and our real Labubu guide shows how to make sure a secret is genuine.
What is a secret Labubu?

Every Labubu blind box series has a set of regular designs, usually six, and one secret edition. The secret is often shown only as a silhouette on the box, or not at all, so it stays a surprise. Because Pop Mart makes far fewer secrets than regular figures, finding one feels special, and secrets are usually the most valuable figures in a series.
Why Labubu has secret figures
Secret figures are part of what makes blind boxes exciting. Every box has the same price, but one in many hides something rare, so opening each box feels like a small gamble with a happy ending if you are lucky. For collectors, the secret is the final piece of a series, and for Pop Mart it keeps people talking about each new release.
Labubu’s creator, Kasing Lung, designed the character as a mischievous but kind-hearted elf, and the secrets often play with that personality through unusual colours and textures.
Secret Labubu odds
For many Labubu series, the odds of a secret edition are around 1 in 72 boxes. Some series use rarer odds, such as 1 in 144 or 1 in 168. The odds for each regular design are much better, at around 1 in 6 in a series with six designs.
| Figure type | Typical odds per box |
|---|---|
| Each regular design (six-design series) | About 1 in 6 |
| Secret edition (most series) | About 1 in 72 |
| Secret edition (rarer series) | 1 in 144 or 1 in 168 |
These odds are averages across a very large number of boxes. You could find a secret in your first box or open dozens without seeing one.
What do the odds mean for a sealed case?
A sealed case contains a full display of blind boxes from one series. With odds of 1 in 72 per box, a case of six boxes gives you roughly a one in twelve chance of a secret, simply because you are opening more boxes.
Collectors report that a full case usually contains each regular design once, with the secret replacing one of them when it appears, but this is not guaranteed. Either way, a sealed case is the most reliable way to collect a whole series, with the secret as a bonus.
The most famous secret Labubu figures
Chestnut Cocoa (Exciting Macaron)

Chestnut Cocoa is the secret of Exciting Macaron, the first Labubu series sold in blind boxes. It has a rich, chocolate-brown plush body and a red nose. As the first secret to become famous, it set the style for many secrets that followed and remains one of the most recognised Labubu figures. Try your luck with the Exciting Macaron sealed display case.
Duoduo (Have a Seat)
Duoduo is the secret of the Have a Seat series. It has a deep brown, flocked body, a red nose and a cheeky sideways glance, and its soft texture makes it feel different from the regular figures.
ID (Big Into Energy)
ID is the secret of Big Into Energy, the series known for bright tie-dye colours. ID has a dark grey body with rainbow teeth and eyes, a striking twist on Labubu’s usual look. The same secret also appears in the Big Into Energy phone charm range. Shop the Big Into Energy sealed case.
Secret and regular designs compared
Regular designs in a series usually share a theme and a colour palette, such as the pastel dessert colours of Exciting Macaron or the tie-dye of Big Into Energy. The secret breaks the pattern. It may use a darker colour, a different material such as flocked plush, or a special detail like rainbow teeth. That contrast is what makes a secret Labubu stand out on a shelf.
How to tell if you have a secret Labubu
- Check the identity card. The card inside the box shows which figure you have pulled.
- Compare with the box. If your figure is not one of the regular designs shown, it may be the secret.
- Look at the details. Secrets often have a different colour, texture or feature, such as Chestnut Cocoa’s brown plush.
- Check it is real. Run through the checks in our real Labubu guide before you celebrate.
Secret Labubu in collaborations
Collaboration series can have secret figures too. Our range includes the THE MONSTERS Coca-Cola Series sealed case and the Disney Mickey Family Together sealed case, both with their own regular designs and a hidden secret. Collaboration secrets combine two fan bases, which makes them especially sought after.

Pin for Love secrets

The Pin for Love series is split into two halves, A to M and N to Z, with letter-themed designs. Like other series, each half has its own secret, which adds an extra chase to a series many people buy as personalised gifts.
Tips for chasing a secret Labubu
- Buy sealed. Opened or resealed boxes cannot be trusted, and the odds only apply to sealed product.
- Collect the whole series. A sealed case gives you the regulars and more chances at the secret.
- Set a budget. With odds of 1 in 72, chasing a secret box by box can get expensive.
- Consider buying the secret. If you only want the secret, buying it from a trusted seller can be cheaper than opening boxes.
- Trade duplicates. Swapping spare regular designs with friends helps complete a series.
How to open a Labubu case
- Film the unboxing. A video shows the boxes were sealed, which helps if you ever sell a secret.
- Open one box at a time. Keep each figure with its own box and identity card.
- Open the foil bag carefully. Tearing it roughly can scratch the vinyl face.
- Check each card. The identity card tells you which design you have, including the secret.
- Keep everything. Boxes, cards and bags all add to the value of a complete set.
If you do pull a secret, put it somewhere safe straight away and check it against official images. Then enjoy it, because finding a secret Labubu is one of the best moments in the hobby.
Are secret Labubu figures worth more?
Usually, yes. Secrets are the rarest figures in a series, so they tend to sell for well above the retail price of a blind box. Values change over time and vary by series, so always check recent sales before buying or selling. We are not financial advisers, and our advice is to chase secrets for the fun of it rather than as an investment.
Be careful with fake secrets
Because secrets are valuable, they are among the most copied Labubu figures. Be wary of anyone selling a secret Labubu at a low price, and ask for clear photos of the teeth, feet, tag, box and identity card. Fakes often get colours and textures slightly wrong, so compare with official images.
Looking after a secret Labubu
- Keep the box and card to show what the figure is and where it came from.
- Store it away from sunlight to protect the colours.
- Handle the plush gently and brush it lightly rather than washing it.
- Display it safely in a cabinet or on a shelf away from damp.
Secret Labubu as a gift
A blind box is a fun present because the recipient might find a secret. If you want to give someone the best chance, a full sealed case lets them open several boxes, collect the regular designs and hope for the secret. Keep the case sealed so they get the whole experience, and include a gift receipt in case they already have the series.
