What is Pokémon Delta Reign?

Pokémon Delta Reign Elite Trainer Box with Mega Rayquaza ex

Delta Reign carries the set code ME06 and the printed abbreviation DLR. It is built around Mega Evolution, the mechanic that returned to the trading card game with the Pokémon Legends: Z-A era, and its headline card is Mega Rayquaza ex.

The name points back to the Delta Episode from Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the story where Rayquaza Mega Evolves to stop a meteor. That link explains the set’s other big cards too: Zinnia, the Draconid character from that story, appears as a Supporter card, and the Hoenn legends Kyogre and Groudon turn up as Illustration rares.

Delta Reign and Storm Emeralda

Like other Mega Evolution sets, Delta Reign started life in Japan. Its Japanese counterpart is Storm Emeralda, which came out on 31 July 2026. The English set is not a straight copy, though. Pokémon Delta Reign combines Storm Emeralda with cards from the 2026 MEGA Starter Decks, which is why the English set is larger.

If you want to open Japanese packs, browse our Japanese Pokémon cards. For English packs, the Delta Reign Booster Box holds 36 packs.

What is in a Delta Reign booster pack?

An English Delta Reign booster pack holds 10 game cards, a Basic Energy card and a code card for Pokémon TCG Live. Most of the 10 cards are commons and uncommons, with at least one rare or better in every pack.

Japanese Storm Emeralda packs are smaller, with 5 cards each, and a Japanese box holds 30 packs instead of 36. That is why the two versions feel so different to open, even though the artwork on the best cards is shared.

Pull rates for the English set have not been published by The Pokémon Company. Be careful with any figures you see online before launch, because early estimates are often based on a small number of opened boxes.

How the Delta Reign card list works

The Pokémon Company describes Delta Reign as having over 135 cards. English cards revealed so far are numbered out of 103, so anything above 103 is a secret rare. The final English list had not been published in full ahead of launch, so treat any complete list you see before release day as provisional.

These are the parts of the Delta Reign card list collectors focus on:

  • Four Mega Pokémon ex: Mega Rayquaza ex, Mega Golisopod ex, Mega Golurk ex and Mega Malamar ex.
  • Other Pokémon ex: including Raikou ex, plus Pokémon ex from the MEGA Starter Decks.
  • Legendary Stadiums: a new kind of card, explained below.
  • Illustration rares: full-art scenes, with Kyogre and Groudon among them.
  • Special Illustration rares and a Mega Hyper Rare: the hardest cards to pull, led by Mega Rayquaza ex.

Our Delta Reign chase cards guide goes through the rarest cards one by one.

The four Mega Pokémon ex

Pokémon Delta Reign Booster Box with 36 packs

Mega Pokémon ex are the stars of every Mega Evolution set, and Pokémon Delta Reign has four of them.

  • Mega Rayquaza ex: the headline card, a Colorless Pokémon with 280 HP on its revealed English card.
  • Mega Golisopod ex: a Grass Pokémon with 340 HP.
  • Mega Golurk ex: a Psychic Pokémon with 350 HP.
  • Mega Malamar ex: a Darkness Pokémon with 320 HP.

Golisopod, Golurk and Malamar had never had Mega Evolutions before the Pokémon Legends: Z-A era, so their cards are new territory for collectors and players alike. For players, Mega Pokémon ex are powerful but risky: like other Mega ex cards, they give up extra Prize cards when they are knocked out.

Legendary Stadiums: the new Delta Reign mechanic

Delta Reign introduces Legendary Stadiums. Each one is a pair of Stadium cards with the same name whose artwork joins up into one wide illustration when the two cards sit side by side. Both halves of a pair come in the same pack.

There are three pairs in the set, including Legendary Summit and Legendary Trench. For collectors they are a fun new chase, because a single half looks incomplete on its own. If you pull one, keep both halves together in a binder page so the full picture stays intact.

Delta Reign prerelease and promos

Delta Reign prerelease events ran at Play! Pokémon stores from 24 October to 1 November 2026. Players at these events used the Build & Battle Box, which pairs four booster packs with a 40-card deck so everyone starts on an even footing.

Each Build & Battle Box includes one of four prerelease promo cards: Masquerain, Magmortar, Enamorus or Kommo-o. The box was sold at select Play! Pokémon stores from 24 October, ahead of the full release, and it is a good choice if you want a deck you can play straight away.

The other promo to know about is the Kyogre Illustration rare in the Elite Trainer Box. The standard ETB includes it, and the Pokémon Center version adds a stamped copy as well.

Which Delta Reign product should you buy?

  • For the most packs: the Delta Reign Booster Box is the best way to chase the rares and build a full set.
  • For a first look or a gift: the Elite Trainer Box gives you nine packs and the exclusive Kyogre promo.
  • For simple pack opening: the Booster Bundle has six packs and no extras.
  • For new players: the Build & Battle Box includes a ready-made 40-card deck to learn with.

All four are listed in our English booster boxes and English Pokémon cards ranges, and you can check every current pre-order on our pre-orders page.

Tips for collecting the Delta Reign card list

  • Sleeve your best pulls straight away. Special Illustration rares and the gold Mega Hyper Rare scratch easily, so put them in a penny sleeve and top loader as soon as they come out of the pack.
  • Keep Legendary Stadium pairs together. Store both halves side by side in a binder so the joined artwork stays complete.
  • Track the numbers. Use the card numbers out of 103 to see which main-set cards you are missing, and treat numbers above 103 as secret rares.
  • Do not throw away code cards. Each pack’s code card unlocks the same pack in Pokémon TCG Live.
  • Buy sealed product from a trusted shop. Resealed packs and fake cards appear around every big release, so avoid listings that look too cheap.

If you are collecting Japanese cards as well, keep the two languages in separate binders. The numbering is different between Storm Emeralda and Delta Reign, so mixing them makes it harder to see what you still need.

Is Pokémon Delta Reign worth collecting?

Pokémon Delta Reign Build and Battle Box

If you love Mega Evolution, Hoenn or Rayquaza, the answer is an easy yes. Mega Rayquaza ex is one of the most popular Pokémon in the hobby, and the Legendary Stadium pairs give collectors something genuinely new to chase.

It also arrives in a busy season, with the 30th Celebration products releasing in waves through late 2026. If you are collecting both, plan your budget around the dates in our 30th Anniversary release date guide.
