The road to the OP18 release date
August 2026: the reveal at ONE PIECE DAY ’26
Bandai revealed OP18 during ONE PIECE DAY ’26 in August, through its official Japanese and English accounts. The English account confirmed the title, The Dominance of God, and said the set would release in November 2026.
23 August 2026: the first card images
The first official card images appeared on 23 August 2026 and included two Leaders: Franky, in his first ever Leader card, and Gunko. Both were shown in normal and parallel versions.
Autumn 2026: product pages and card reveals
Bandai then published official product pages with the English and Japanese release dates, and began revealing more cards on its official accounts. More cards are added to the official card list as launch gets closer.
20 and 21 November 2026: launch
The English version releases on 20 November and the Japanese version on 21 November, so English players get the set first this time.

When is OP18 tournament legal?
Bandai’s English product page sets a simple rule: English cards become legal for tournaments seven days after the regional release date, and from the pre-release date at a local game store. Counting seven days from 20 November gives 27 November 2026 for general events.
If you play competitively, that week between launch and legality is a good time to open your packs, sort your cards and test new decks before they count.
What is The Dominance of God about?
OP18 is the second of the One Piece Card Game’s fourth-anniversary main sets, following OP17. Reports from Japanese outlets describe its themes as the Water Seven arc, the Holy Knights of God and Elbaf with the World Government, which ties it closely to the story told in OP17.
The name fits that theme. The Holy Knights serve the highest powers of the World Government, and the set’s key art shows a Holy Knight over a red map.

Franky’s Leader is the big story for players and fans alike. He is one of the most popular Straw Hats and had never had a Leader card before One Piece OP18.
OP18 chase cards to watch
- Yoshitaka Amano cards: Bandai confirmed that OP18 features two characters illustrated by the legendary Final Fantasy artist. Guest-artist cards like these are expected to be the top chases.
- God’s Knights Super Parallel: a new parallel treatment reported for the set, tied to its Holy Knights theme.
- Nico Robin Manga Rare: reported as Robin’s first Manga Rare, a big draw for Straw Hat collectors.
- Leader parallels: Franky and Gunko were both shown with parallel versions.
- Secret Rares: reported to include Saint Shamrock and Loki.

Like other English main sets, an English OP18 booster box holds 24 packs of 12 cards. The English product page lists 127+1 card types in total. Japanese packs contain 6 cards each, with 24 packs to a box.
If you are new to the game, a booster box is the simplest way to start a collection, because it gives you a wide spread of commons, uncommons and rares as well as a chance at the parallels.
OP18 vs OP17: which should you buy?
The two sets work together, so many collectors will want both. If you need to choose, think about what you want most:

Is OP18 worth pre-ordering?
For most fans, yes. One Piece OP18 has three things that usually make a set popular: a fan-favourite Straw Hat getting his first Leader, guest artwork from a famous illustrator and a new parallel rarity. Sets with that mix tend to be hard to find in the weeks after launch.

Release day tips for OP18
- Have sleeves and top loaders ready. Parallels and Secret Rares scratch easily, so protect them as soon as they leave the pack.
- Check every parallel carefully. Parallel versions share a card number with the normal card, so look at the artwork and finish.
- Keep your Leaders together. If you play, sort the Leaders and their colours as you open so deck building is easier later.
- Do not rush to sell. Prices for single cards usually move a lot in the first weeks after launch.
